2/3/2015 – The House voted 239-186 today to repeal the Affordable Care Act, the latest effort by the Republican-controlled chamber to scrap the law. The bill (H.R.596) also would direct panels to come up with a replacement for the healthcare law — though it doesn’t provide a timeline on any new legislation or what provisions it may contain.
What if a draft copy of a Republican Health Care bill was found in Republican House leader John Boehner’s suit jacket pocket by a minimum wage worker at the dry cleaners? Here is what it probably would say:
Trickle-Down Health Care Act
- You’re on your own
- Sink or swim
- I’ve got mine
- Government should not interfere w/ poor people’s right to be sick and die
- Subsidize big business. That’s healthy.
- If the founding fathers had intended for all Americans to have health care it would have been written into the Constitution (and the Slaves would have a 3/5ths Health Care Plan).
What’s the rush? Six years are not enough to come up with our own idea. We can’t think that fast.
