Trump’s main points are:

A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border. How will the wall be paid for? Trump mentions raising a lot of “crossing the border” fees. The Mexico-USA border is 1,933 miles long. The Army Corps of Engineers reported that the cost of building “pedestrian fences” has increased from an average of $3.5 million per mile to $7.5 million per mile.

7,500,00 X 1,933 miles = $14,497,500,000. That is 14 ½ TRILLION dollars.

Donald-Trump Campaign Announcement 4 v22. Trump says Triple the number of ICE enforcement officers from 5,000 to 15,000. No mention of how these extra employees will be paid for.

Trump says require Nationwide e-verify for jobs. Who pays for this service?

Trump says require Mandatory return of all criminal aliens to their home nations and cancel any visas to foreign countries which will not accept their own criminals. Will that really affect all foreign countries or will Exceptions be made?

Trump says Illegal aliens apprehended crossing the border must be detained and not released until they are sent home. How will the Gov’t know which country they came from if the person won’t say?

Trump says Cut-off federal grants to any city which refuses to cooperate with federal law enforcement. What does cooperate mean? Many cities now complain the Federal Gov’t does not cover their expenses and they cannot afford to enforce federal laws without repayment.

Trump says Individuals who refuse to leave at the time their visa expires should be subject to criminal penalties; this will also help give local jurisdictions the power to hold visa overstay people until federal authorities arrive. Completion of a visa tracking system – required by law but blocked by lobbyists – will be necessary as well. Will Federal Gov’t pay for local gov’ts to hold these visa overstay people?

Trump says ICE officers should accompany local police departments conducting raids of violent street gangs like MS-13 and the 18th street gang. All illegal aliens in gangs should be apprehended and deported. How will they determine who is illegal?

3. End birthright citizenship. (On MEET THE PRESS show Trump added that USA-born children of illegal aliens will be deported too – to keep families together – and their citizenship revoked. The 14th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified on July 9, 1868, and granted citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States,” which included former slaves recently freed.

So for the past 147 years Birthright Citizenship has been the law of the land. What Trump wants will require another Constitutional Amendment. Millions of children of European immigrants, legal and illegal, have received automatic citizenship this way. Does Trump want to close the barn door after the waves of White Folks (which include his German grandparents) got their citizenship?

Trump is claiming to be a “Small-Government” conservative, but he proposes expanding the government’s payroll, expenses, and police powers. As usual for most Right-Wingers, Trump doesn’t mind spending Trillions for their own pet issues, while Bitching that the country is Broke.
